Thurman Tucker received the "Volunteer of the Year" Award from Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever at an awards banquet on February 16, 2013.
Tucker has volunteered for quail habitat and restoration for more than 40 years throughout Minnesota. MN Quail Forever has chapters in the Twin Cities Metro area and Southeast Minnesota. The 2013 Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, February 15-17.
